Arts Learning Signature Programs

The Arts Council for Long Beach strives to discover unique and innovative programs for learners that are not provided through other local arts groups. By identifying the gaps in local arts education, the Arts Council is able to take a more creative approach in its programming. Without a permanent collection to rely on, or a singular arts discipline to adhere to, the Arts Council can network and collaborate on a national level to identify interdisciplinary programs that can be tailored to fill a specialized niche in the Long Beach community. Current programs offered by the Arts Council:

  • Passport to the Arts provides dance, theater, music and visual arts experiences that focus on cultural traditions.
  • Eye on Design teaches public art and design by highlighting local history and the public art process.
  • Artist in Residence experiences are specialized arts programs individually designed for local groups/organizations by the Arts Council for targeted audiences.

Long Beach Arts Education Roundtable

The Long Beach Arts Education Roundtable enables arts organizations providing arts education in Long Beach schools and the community to meet and share information about the field. The roundtable, hosted by the Arts Council for Long Beach's Arts Learning Department, is held quarterly.

Last Meeting: November 19, 2009
Next Meeting: March 2010 (date and location TBA)

For questions or to be added to the Roundtable's list serv, please email us.

Arts and Cultural Education (ACE) Directory

The Arts Council for Long Beach has launched its new Arts and Culture Education (A.C.E.) Directory, which will serve as a comprehensive guide to the arts and cultural programs available to Long Beach youth. The directory will also provide arts organizations the chance to broaden their audience base by attracting young people to their art form through varied and enriching cultural activities, classes and performances. The goal of this project is to highlight both new and upcoming organizations and more established programs throughout the community.  Click here to visit the A.C.E. Directory.
