Choreographer Sophiline Cheam Shapiro named USA Knight Fellow

The Arts Council for Long Beach congratulates local choreographer Sophiline Cheam Shapiro for being named a USA Knight Fellow.
Shapiro a master of classical Cambodian dance and a co-founder of Khmer Arts, based in Phnom Penh and Long Beach.
She is receiving a $55,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to continue her artistic works and share her work with the Long Beach community.
